Our Story
Francis The Bakers is a family-run bakery with a rich history dating back to 1913. It all began with our great-grandfather, Thomas Andrew Francis, who took a leap of faith to start his own bakery in Edinburgh, with the support of his two sons. In 1923 the family moved away from the city to Annan in the beautiful south-west of Scotland, where our bakery still stands today at 39 High Street.
Over the decades, we have faced many challenges but through it all our commitment to quality and passion for baking never wavered. Each generation of the Francis family has played a vital role in keeping the tradition alive. Today, the bakery is run by the fourth generation of the Francis family who continue to uphold the values that were instilled by the generations before.

Each is handmade with love and care, just as our great-grandfather intended.
